The Indian ministry of defence is in negotiations to purchase an additional airborne early warning system from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).If the deal goes ahead, the AEW system will be deployed on an Ilyushin Il-76 transport aircraft, as with the three systems IAI supplied last year.
India's AEW aircraft are designed to integrate information from sensors carried on a number of manned and unmanned platforms.
